Human Resources Generalist

FLSA Status: Exempt
Location: 1085 Golfair Blvd.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all agency personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual. Participates in developing departmental goals, objectives, and systems. Monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary. Performs benefits administration to include enrollments, claims resolution, change reporting, reviewing and approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to employees. Conducts recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt personnel; conducts new-employee orientations, writes and places advertisements, to include preparing job notices to be posted in–house and maintain files. Handles employee relations counseling, and exit interviewing. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles routine, ad hoc and compliance reports from database. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. Gather pertinent data and develop reports for use in labor negotiations/collective bargaining. Research files and other sources to obtain information relative to grievances. Initiate all payroll actions and maintain all personnel files. Maintain current employees’ leave records (FMLA, ADA, & Workers Compensation). Perform related duties as may be required by JHA Human Resources Director.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: A bachelor's degree and three (3) to five (5) years of Human Resources experience, or a master's degree in Human Resources Management and two (2) years of experience in the HR field, or Seven (7) years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred. Must be proficient in using an HRIS (preferably ADP), Microsoft (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIORMENT: Must be able to sit in an office environment, walk upstairs to meet with clientele, able to lift up to 15 lbs. Most of the work will be in an environment with air conditioning but some may be held out doors.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION:  Must be insurable by JHA’s insurance and possess a valid Florida Driver’s License.

Current JHA employees may be eligible for pay above the starting salary, but within the pay range.
