Plumber (Fulltime or Part-time)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform skilled work at the level of Plumber in the installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing and/or heating equipment. Determine materials and methods used and may supervise subordinates. Work from blueprints sketches, or general instructions. Includes all work ordinarily performed by a Plumber such as laying out and making sketches for new plumbing and heating systems, making installations of new equipment, testing joints and pipe systems for leaks, including gas leaks, installing sanitary and ordinary plumbing fixtures, repairing and re-piping air, water, and waste disposal systems, cutting openings in walls for pipes, opening clogged drains, and related plumbing duties. Use of the following equipment: pipe dies, torches, pipe cutters, reamers, threading machine, sewer drain cleaning equipment and other tools commonly used by plumbers. May repair, replace and check hot water boilers, check safety devices and controls, replacing and repairing when needed; flush and clean boilers, storage and return tanks, hot water heaters, and similar apparatus. Take emergency on-call on a rotating basis. Make estimates of time and materials. Operate vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of 8,000 lbs. or more but less than 26,000 lbs., such as one-ton vans. Perform related duties as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Must have a minimum of (4) years of plumbing experience. Must have residential and commercial plumbing experience. Thorough knowledge of all plumbing codes and the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift up to 50 to 125 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Most of the work will be held outdoors; however, some functions may be held in an air conditioned environment.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION: Must be insurable by JHA’s insurance and possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. Journeyman Plumbing Certification required.

Current JHA employees may be eligible for pay above the starting salary, but within the pay range.
