March 31, 2020 Covid-19 Update
During the recent address to the public, the President of the United States extended the social distancing order through April 30, 2020. In response to this order, our offices will remain closed to the public for the entire month of April, 2020. In addition to addressing the safety & health of our staff, our office will continue to maintain our obligations to our residents and clientele by following the ongoing recommendations and guidance as given by the experts. If any resident has a Public Housing related issue, they should email us or call our office at 904-630-3810, and follow the prompts. For all after-hours and weekend emergencies, please call 877-562-9450.
In addition JH also has decided to extend the closing of our offices for the JH employees until Monday, April 6, 2020. While most of the staff is returning to work or telecommuting, this still allows us to be in compliance with the current Federal guidelines of the Social Distancing practice for the health and safety of our staff, residents and clients.
It is so very important that we follow medical guidance regarding how to care for ourselves. Social distancing and avoiding interaction with others appears to be one of the top management tools. You should never be closer than 6 feet to anyone at any time that you are working for us or at any other time, for your safety. Please wear gloves at all times during work in our offices, units or other JH Properties.
Unfortunately, we must continue to have very limited contact with residents, vendors or others. I will continue to look for ways to engage our residents and vendors so that they understand the critical decisions that we must make.
Your wellness is extremely important. Remember do not report to work if you are ill, if you have a fever or other COVID 19 symptoms. If you are diagnosed with any symptoms, please immediately notify us.
As more information develops related to the COVID-19 health crisis, our essential functions may change, which may require adjustments to the essential staffing needs. We will actively monitor any mandatory changes or restrictions placed in the general population as we continue to keep everyone updated through the channels of communication.
Among our existing resources, and the efforts of staff, we will continue to fight this dangerous pathogen and its threat to our residents health and security. It is our goal to continue to nourish a healthy and safe community.
