March 26, 2020 Covid-19 Update
In our ongoing effort to provide a safe and healthy environment for our senior and disabled residents who live in our three apartment towers, Jacksonville Housing is using a special electrostatic spraying method to disinfect the properties.
Workers have completed spraying all public areas, offices and residences at Hogan Creek Tower, Centennial Towers and are expected to complete the spraying of Twin Towers today. In all, the three towers house close to 600 senior residents. We will continue disinfecting all of our elderly buildings, then office buildings in every community.
Electrostatic disinfecting is a way of quickly and evenly coating a surface with a disinfecting solution by applying a negative charge to the disinfecting solution onto a positive surface charge.
"This is a highly effective way of reducing the risks that the coronavirus will spread among the most vulnerable population - our elderly residents," said JH Interim Executive Director and CEO Dwayne Alexander.
